The removal of the statue on Friday morning. The decision sparked fierce rioting from Estonia's ethnic Russian minority on Thursday night and a fresh series of protests on Friday afternoon [AFP]



One man was stabbed to death and dozens were injured in the violence, including 12 police officers [AFP]

The Russian parliament has threatened to break off diplomatic relations with Estonia, even though the Estonian government says it will erect the statue in a different location [AFP]
